I am Anastasios Karachanidis, founder of MONOKèRI, a Greek brand born from my love for art, creativity, and the desire to offer something truly special.

Coming from an artistic background, particularly the world of dance, I have gained valuable experiences that have shaped my aesthetic sensibility and the way I approach creativity. I have always believed that art should not be confined to galleries and museums, but should find its place in everyday life, even through the simplest objects. This belief inspired me to create MONOKèRI, bringing together the beauty of art and the world of fragrance.

From the very beginning, I wanted to create more than just another scented candle or home fragrance. My vision was to offer a complete experience, something I would personally choose as the perfect gift, whether for someone I love or simply for myself. To me, this experience begins long before the candle is lit. It starts with the moment someone holds the box, appreciating the artwork and the beauty of its packaging, and feeling the anticipation of discovering what lies inside. It continues with the unboxing, the first encounter with the product, and the fragrance that unfolds, eventually becoming part of the atmosphere, relaxation, and enjoyment it brings to a space. I wanted every detail to matter, from the selection of the artwork to the fragrance composition and final presentation, creating a harmonious sense of care, quality, and luxury.

The truth is, however, that none of this began as a grand business plan. MONOKèRI started almost as an experiment, with a small batch of candles I created out of a personal desire to make something and see an idea come to life. With no particular expectations and without imagining where it might lead, I was genuinely surprised by the response of the first people who discovered my products. Interest gradually grew, my creations began finding their way into more and more homes, and what had started as a small personal project slowly began to take on a life of its own.

Today, I am already in the third year of this journey, and sometimes I still find it difficult to fully realise how much it has grown. What began as a creative experiment is gradually becoming my main professional pursuit. Perhaps one of the most rewarding parts of this story is knowing that something created spontaneously, out of genuine passion and personal interest, has managed to resonate with so many people.

The Philosophy Behind MONOKèRI

My ambition is to create products that embody quality, aesthetics, and respect for the environment, offering something beyond their practical purpose. I carefully select the ingredients, fragrances, and packaging, aiming for every MONOKèRI creation to combine exceptional quality with a distinctive artistic identity. I want every scented candle and home fragrance to represent a small everyday luxury, an opportunity to enjoy a moment of personal indulgence or give someone else a thoughtful and beautiful gift.

What Makes MONOKèRI Unique

From the beginning, my intention was to bring together two worlds I love: art and fragrance creation. MONOKèRI collections feature works by renowned artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Winslow Homer, and Auguste Renoir, while also drawing inspiration from a variety of artistic movements, including Pop Art, Abstract Art, Impressionism, and Post-Impressionism. These artistic influences continue to evolve and expand as I explore new forms of expression and creative directions, always seeking a harmonious connection between art, fragrance, and packaging.

I have never considered packaging merely a means of presenting a product. To me, it is an essential part of the creation itself and the first chapter of the experience I want to offer. My aim is for every MONOKèRI creation to be something people genuinely enjoy choosing, giving as a gift, or keeping for themselves. Something visually distinctive that complements their surroundings while bringing moments of relaxation and personal enjoyment through its fragrance.
